What are the results of the first national CSR survey among academic students? On Tuesday 28 February you will have the opportunity along with our panel of experts to witness the CSR survey launch organised by the financial newspaper Børsen and WELL.
Written by Kristian Risager, WELL

A unique combination of speakers, all with their personal expertise within the CSR field, will comment the results of the national survey on CSR knowledge among students.

The event is conducted as a discussion with a panel of expert speakers to encourage a lively debate among the panel and you as the audience. You are invited to join the discussion and get the opportunity to be the first to know about the demands academic students have regarding their future workplace and to take part in a debate of responsibility and corporate ethics.

Join the debate and help create an interesting afternoon together with the these experts:

Kresten Schultz Jørgensen is head of communications and marketing at The Royal Danish Theatre. He has been with the National Department of Education and Science and as has worked as editor of sevaral Danish newspapers. His professional experience also counts leading positions within the multinational corporation Coca Cola to his current position at The Royal Danish Theatre. He is also an active debater in the daily press.

Johan Peter Paludan is the director of the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies (CIFS). In the 1990s, CIFS introduced 'The Political Consumer' and today Johan Peter Paludan focuses on CSL (Corporate Social Leadership) as the successor of CSR. Furthermore, he argues that CSR is a luxury phenomenon. In other words CSR will evaporate as soon as a company experiences financial trouble.

Susanne Stormer is manager in Corporate Branding, Novo Nordisk A/S. She will provide an insight from one of Denmark's leading companies within CSR. Novo Nordisk is perceived as one of the top socially responsible companies and their activities are often at the forefront of CSR. Novo Nordisk is known to combine environmental consciousness, public responsibility and a healthy economy in any business decision the company makes.

Janda Campos represents The Confederation of Danish Industries (Dansk Industri - DI). DI is a private organisation funded, owned and managed entirely by currently 6.400 companies within the manufacturing and service industries. The organisation states that the emphasis should be on the voluntary perspective of CSR meaning the importance of corporate freedom to exercise CSR initiatives. DI argues that CSR is best practiced if governments do not regulate.

Karim Buus Drif is the representative from WELL. He is also a co-founder of the organisation. Read more about Karim here.

Steen Vallentin is Ph.D in ethical investment and an expert on CSR. Steen Vallentin has pointed out the dilemma of the relentless shareholder pressure combined with the commitment to stakeholders. He argues, that the two do not combine in a reliable manner; that the democratically approach of stakeholder management looses its value if too closely connected to a one-dimensional shareholder value approach.

Steen Valentin will act as moderator.

Participation is free.
