Freeman Event Re-Cap!
Posted 03-11-2005
Edward Freeman's session with WELL members and guests on 24 October 2005 at CBS was a tremendous success. Students had the opportunity to hear about the origins of stakeholder management and stakeholder theory from the 'creator' himself.
By Cheryl Iseli, WELL

Freeman went beyond the basics of stakeholder theory and also introduced "A New Approach to CSR: Company Stakeholder Responsibility" - as opposed to the traditional use of the acronym "Corporate Social Responsibility." The intimate venue at Dalgas Have allowed for an in-depth student discussion to follow Ed Freeman's presentation and students interacted asking a variety of questions.

Students said:

"Freeman engaged the students and really had his own 'stakeholder dialogue' with us! I think that's one of the reasons I learned so much and why it was so successful." - KD, CBS

"I saw it as a great opportunity to "pick the brains" of one of the greatest thinkers of our time within management. It happened to be a really intimate and rewarding seminar in a very informal setting." - AR, CBS

Edward Freeman himself stated:

"The WELL students were engaging. Some of the best students I've encountered in 25 years of teaching. They are going to change the world for the better."

What a great experience for all those that participated! Don't miss the next WELL event where you can help us 'change the world'!
