WELL is hosting a Nordic case competition where business students have 48 hours to come up with their solution to a real-life ethical dilemma facing one of the world's largest companies
On April 23, students from seven different schools in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark get together at Copenhagen Business School for the WELLcontest '06. Each school will send a team of four students who will compete on combining practical and theoretical knowledge on CSR.
The success continues
The event is a continuation of the success from 2004 where WELL brought together students from Danish universities and business schools for a case competition on CSR - the first of its kind in Denmark. Back then, Danisco was used as the case company and the contenders had to get the Danish multinational out of an ethical tight spot in Indonesia.
The first Nordic case competition on CSR
This year, WELL has been touring the Nordic countries in order to find participants for the contest, which will be the first Nordic business school case competition that deals with ethics. Hopefully, the WELLcontest '06 will be the first step towards establishing a Nordic platform for the exchange of knowledge on CSR among students.
When and where
The case company will be revealed on Monday April 21 at Copenhagen Business School and on Tuesday 22, the case will be handed out to the participating teams. They then have 48 hours to solve the case, which will be based on a real-life ethical dilemma facing one of the largest companies in the world. On Friday April 28 at Copenhagen Business School, a jury consisting of representatives from business and academia will single out the winning team.
The contestants
The participating schools are: Stockholm School of Economics (Sweden), Jönköping International Business School (Sweden), Helsinki School of Economics (Finland), BI Norwegian School of Management (Norway), Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (Norway), Aarhus School of Business (Denmark) and Copenhagen Business School (Denmark).
